Achieve More through Focus

We’re talked recently about self-discipline.  Another aspect of that is focus.  Which at its essence is controlled attention.

Controlled attention is how you harness the awesome power of mind.  It brings you mastery, because you focus on the goal you really want to achieve.

A harmonious and well-directed mind does not happen by chance.  You must be the thinker of the thought and create the outcomes you seek.

Fix your attention on your desired outcome, create daily reminders, and condition it into your subconscious mind.  The secret to success is the ability to focus your attention on the things you want – and off the things you don’t want!

Thanks Randy, Iv'e recently started using an iPad App called "Affirmational", it is an awesome tool for what you have described for goal setting and you can modify it to suite your own goals. A great focus tool.

What works for me and those I work with is to develop a very clear measurable definition of the outcome. Then the discipline is key...doing what you need to do to achieve the outcome. However if this link is missing, I am not sure you can hit the mark. The link? ...Being in alignment with your purpose. What is your purpose? The topic for another post from Randy....hint Randy

Randy, thanks i just
need to hear this. Have started application.

The question is what are you really focusing? Thoughts? Ideas? Attention? All equal energy. Focus enough energy on what you want, and you become a magnet to it. The key is to positively focused instead of negatively focused.

My first thought when I started the article was, "ouch... focus...my weakest subject". The words "harmonious and well directed mind" also struck a chord (of disbelief that that could be me). Because of your previous tutelage, I recognized that this was a dis-empowering belief that needed to change before I could implement your excellent suggestions.
I will put this into action immediately.
Thank you!
