The reason we don’t like to make changes, develop more wisdom, banish our ignorance, or even simply learn something new – is because that changes you into a new version of you – which conflicts with the old version of you.

BOOM.

    Plus, real change takes a lot of effort and is very difficult to do on your own. It is easier and less stressful just to remain status quo. I believe lyrics from an old Pink Floyd song best describes most people – “I have become comfortably numb”.

    A better version my be the best way to phrase that. Once we get to our better version, we will have a new better version to get to. We can keep getting better our entire life. That is doing our best to always get better.
