Becoming a Better Version of You

If you’re not actively committed to creating a better version of you – then life is a pretty shallow, boring, and narcissistic existence.   The fact is, we all feel better when we know we’re improving ourselves.

So why don’t more people work on improving themselves?

It is this:

The reason we don’t like to make changes, develop more wisdom, banish our ignorance, or even simply learn something new – is because that changes you into a new version of you – which conflicts with the old version of you.

  1. Plus, real change takes a lot of effort and is very difficult to do on your own. It is easier and less stressful just to remain status quo. I believe lyrics from an old Pink Floyd song best describes most people - "I have become comfortably numb".

  2. A better version my be the best way to phrase that. Once we get to our better version, we will have a new better version to get to. We can keep getting better our entire life. That is doing our best to always get better.
